Biography

John Steckler brings more than 20 years of management experience to OneAccord. Prior to joining the team, he served as senior vice president of growth and strategic development at Zenith American Solutions, where he was responsible for marketing, sales, product development and customer service. As the director of marketing and sales at Pemco Mutual Insurance Company, John created and implemented strategic and tactical plans for rebranding the company, as well as all market research, public relations and internal and external marketing communications.

Before joining Pemco, John served as the director of sales and marketing for Kong Television, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Shurgard Storage Centers, Inc. and chief operating officer/vice president of sales and marketing at Gargoyles Performance Eyewear/ Pro-Tec Helmets.

John successfully re-branded PEMCO Insurance with a Northwest brand platform supported by a "Northwest profile" theme that increased inquiries by 62 percent within the first month of the campaign's launch. At Shurgard Storage Centers, he created an e-commerce program that included internet-based advertising, an affiliated partner program and online purchasing software resulting in over $10 million dollars per year in new online sales.

During his first year as senior vice president of growth and strategic develpment at Zenith American Solutions, John generated over $16 million in new revenue. He also designed and implemented a performance management matrix to improve operational performance, resulting in a 20 percent reduction in staffing costs with no impact to service levels. John grew KONG-TV station revenue from $7 million to over $14 million in four years and increased sales at Gargoyles Performance Eyewear by 36 percent in year one, 32 percent in year two, and achieved a 64 percent compounded increase in sales for year three. As COO at ProTec Helmets, he increased gross margin from 32 percent to 45 percent by relocating the assembly facility and redesigning the product line to reduce production costs and increase available product offerings. His efforts resulted in a turnaround from a $500,000+ operating loss to a $300,000+ operating income in one year.

John earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Washington School of Communications in Seattle, WA. He is a member of the Downtown Seattle Rotary Association, American Marketing Association, Marketing Communication Executives International and Boy Scouts of America.
