“Our family enjoys playing competitive board games around the table. We will set up a game and play it for hours and sometimes even days. It is the perfect place to talk about the day, laugh with one another and just relax.”

Within one year, he closed the leading mass marketing, grocery and drug retailers as well as the leading beauty product firms that sell into these markets.

Carl was part of the senior management team that took the company public in 1995 and subsequently sold it in 2002 to Motorola.
Carl was born and raised in eastern Oregon on a pig and cattle ranch, where he learned to solve the important issues of the day using his wits, the resources he had available and hard work. After graduating high school, he attended Portland State University and received two bachelor’s degrees, one in economics and the other in production management. He has been married to his wife Kristen for over 30 years and has two girls, one who graduated from the University of Washington in 2016 and the other who will graduate from Multnomah University in 2018.
Carl started a church with two other pastors in 2002 and still serves as a pastor/elder there today. In addition to his pastoral responsibilities, Carl also serves and supports other community based nonprofits including serving six years on the board of directors for the Phoenix Center, Washington’s largest nonprofit substance abuse organization.
