Strategy, Patience, Attitude, Discipline, Execution

Strategy Patience

SPADE is another little acronym to help remember some key points. As we dig for gold (our goals, dreams, visions), it's a helpful tool for keeping us on track.

Strategy

The difference between a dream and a goal is that a goal has a deadline and a plan. Have you broken down your goal into a monthly, weekly and daily set of steps or activities that you can measure and manage? This will keep you focused and on track.

Patience

This really translates into trust or faith in the process or the plan. This is not about sitting around and waiting for things to happen, for orders to come in, for sales to “close themselves.” This is about doing what needs to be done and then trusting that the desired outcome will fall into place when the time is right.

Attitude

There are only two attitudes really: positive and negative. The great news? You get to choose what yours will be. Just note that positive people seem to wallow in positive results, and the opposite seems true of people with negative attitudes.

Discipline

Designing a plan is easy — discipline is about working the plan. Successful people are disciplined. Do what needs to be done in order to achieve the goal.

Execution

Someone once said that we are forced to find the time to redo what we didn’t do properly the first time. How’s about following the plan and taking the time to do the right thing, the first time? This way we will be on track and on time. Executing correctly on our plan will help us get there.
