OneAccord Partners' 2016 Year in Review

The year 2016 has been one of crystalizing the vision of where OneAccord Partners is headed, where we want to go and how to invest our energy in order to get there. With strategic planning and a lot of hard work, we set OneAccord Partners on a solid trajectory that will take us into 2017 and beyond—in the right direction.

The year began with OneAccord Capital working hard on the potential acquisition of Yakima-based Graphic Label, Inc. The sale closed and the transition was a success. Capital preserved the legacy of the previous owners by keeping their commitments to the employees, vendors, clients and community. OneAccord Principal Max Clough stepped in to serve as President/CEO, an example of OneAccord Partners' ability to provide necessary talent from its network to help build a business.

As OneAccord Capital invested in GLI and searched for its next acquisition, three things became clear.

    1. There’s a huge gap in the market.

With baby-boomer business owners seeking buyers in record numbers, those with small businesses in blue-collar industries are going to have the hardest time finding a new owner. OAC is serving this underserved corner of the market by focusing exclusively on businesses with an EBITDA from $500,000 to $2 million in the manufacturing, business and service industries.

    1. Small businesses need sell-side services.

OneAccord Capital can't buy every business for sale, which we knew going into 2016. However, if we added sell-side services we could help owners who wanted to sell find the right buyer for their business. Capital added a sell-side team consisting of John O’Dore, Ed Kirk and Brian Jorgenson.

With the syngergy between Partners and Capital, OneAccord can buy businesses that are the right fit for our investors, help sell companies and assist owners to increase the value of their organization.
