We're taking a break from our regularly scheduled program to bring you this message for the Christmas season.
Christmas is about light coming into the darkness. The ironic thing here is that you'd think it would be more dramatic. We light a candle and it pierces the thickest night. A flashlight sends shadows fleeing.
But when the light of men comes into the world it doesn't do as much as one might expect in order to declare itself.
Think about Bethlehem around 2,000 years ago. Jesus is born and some shepherds got a dramatic birth announcement, but the majority of Bethlehem and the world? Just another night. They had no idea what had already happened.
We have no idea what has already happened, today, so hold onto hope.
Maybe you are flooded with light right now, or you're straining in the shadows. Maybe you're somewhere in between. Our wish for you this season is simply this: That you would believe light has come into darkness.
Happy season of light.
